HLWM is a volunteer-run LGBTQ+ organisation in Mechelen, Belgium, working for the visibility, wellbeing and rights of LGBTQ+ people in the region. They give talks in schools, organise social, cultural and educational activities, and help newcomers find their way into the community. Their meeting place, the Babbelkroeg (“de Bab”), is a cosy bar on the top floor of De Schakel (Steenweg 32), open to everyone on Friday evenings from 9 pm.
