Circus of Books - West
Book Circus first opened its doors in 1960, swiftly transforming into the vibrant hub of the local gay community, especially with the alluring Vaseline Alley just behind its premises.
Weathering the storm of the AIDS crisis in 1980, it evolved into the iconic Circus of Books, akin to WeHo's interpretation of Stonewall. Fast forward to 2020, a new chapter unfolds with the reimagined and expanded Circus of Books West.
These establishments not only offer an extensive collection of books but also cater to diverse interests by featuring an array of products, including sex toys, along with a curated selection of literature and art. Additionally, both stores proudly host The Gallery @ Circus, an upscale space showcasing the works of LGBTQ artists, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to the community.
