Stockholm doesn't have any gay saunas largely due to the old Bastuklubbslagen (“Bathhouse Law”), introduced in the 1980s to curb HIV. It made opening or running saunas impossible, and even though it was repealed in 2004, its legacy still shapes the scene today.
