The Stockholm Pride Association is a non-profit, member-driven organization for those who share their values. The board of the association is appointed by the members at the annual meeting, usually based on recommendations from the election committee. The board is responsible for the association's activities between annual meetings and recruits a festival management team.
The association's purpose is to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and create a safe space for gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people, as well as the gender expressions within the LGBTQ+ movement. The Stockholm Pride festival, which has been the largest Pride festival in the Nordic region since 1998, is organized annually, and all the work is done on a voluntary basis.
