Queer Stories in the Moderna Museet Collection

Join Moderna Museet for “Queer Stories in the Moderna Museet’s Collection,” a special event celebrating Stockholm Pride 2024 on July 30. This guided tour, led by Cultural Studies Scholar Emil Åkerö, delves into the rich tapestry of same-sex desire depicted in art. Explore everything from Salman Toor’s evocative “Night Park” to Gösta Adrian-Nilsson’s unique take on uniform-fetishism, as well as themes of politics, daily life, and mourning.

The tour, held in the exhibitions “Pink Sails – Swedish Modernism in the Moderna Museet Collection” and “Seven Rooms and a Garden: Rashid Johnson and The Moderna Museet Collection,” provides a profound insight into how modernist and contemporary artists have portrayed LGBTQ+ themes over the years.
