Outrage Magazine stands out as the singular publication dedicated to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in the Philippines. Founded in 2007 and operating out of Makati City, this magazine has been a platform for bringing to light the stories, struggles, and successes of LGBT Filipinos. With contributions from LGBT individuals and allies, it serves as a mirror reflecting the community's narratives, many of which are overlooked by mainstream media.
Michael David C. Tan, an alumnus of the University of Newcastle and recipient of the 2006 Catholic Mass Media Award for Best Investigative Report, founded the magazine and now guides it as the editor on the loose.
Outrage Magazine has a threefold mission:
To document and share LGBT stories, aiming to increase visibility within the community and with non-LGBT individuals.
To bring LGBT issues to the forefront of social discourse, facilitating dialogue across communities.
To be proactive, not just in highlighting issues but also in contributing to the development of programs addressing the challenges faced by the LGBT community.
Recognized by the Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF), Outrage Magazine has positioned itself as a critical voice and an advocate for the LGBT community in the Philippines.
