What's new since the relaunch
Three weeks of fixes, plus a new app landing in September.
Venue pages now tell you what's actually on. Weekly nights — the Wednesday leather night, the Friday bear night — are finally part of the venue itself, showing this week and next week side by side with real dates. If a one-off party has taken over the usual night, you'll see its real name. The opening hours say what's happening on each day, and an event on a normally-closed day now reads "open for this event" instead of turning you away. Events can carry a start time too — and where we don't know it for sure, we say nothing rather than send you to a shut door.
Telling us something's wrong. Every venue page has a way to suggest an edit or report a problem, and you can now point at the exact thing you mean — the opening hours, the website, a social account, the address, or "this place has closed" — rather than writing one note and hoping we work out which bit you meant.
Coming in September: the new app
The rebuilt GayTravelr app arrives on iOS and Android during September, and a lot of this month's work was getting it ready:
- Ratings. Give a place stars along with your review, and see each venue's averag
- Trips you can share. Make your trips public and other members can open them — where you're going and when. Private trips stay private.
- Trips on the map, and every event on your timeline with a real picture instead of a blank box.
- The same programme as the website — weekly nights and start times come straight through.
Keep it coming. Wrong hours, a night that's moved, a place that's closed — use the report or suggest-an-edit link on any venue page, or submit a place we're missing.
